Yasargil Galea Hooks are bifurcated retractors used in craniotomy to pull back on the dense fibrous tissues that cover the upper part of the cranium known as the galea aponeurotica. This is essential to gain access to the cranial bones and provides minimally traumatic retractions for craniotomy flaps. The hook is double-pronged and has a simple spring coil and a clamp that allows the assembly to be fixed to the drapes.
